Pete OntheCorner is a party DJ, label boss of On the Corner Records, intrepid sound-explorer and music journalist. His mixes can be found on Tom Ravenscroft’s BBC 6Music show, WorldwideFM, Balamii Radio and on a variety of platforms in all corners.
Starting OntheCorner records followed years of digging stores, investigating international scenes, DJing and writing about music. A passion for exploring music cultures led to Pete embarking on a year revelling and DJing within the contemporary music scene’s of African capitals travelling across the continent. His label and DJ sets journey with sounds from drinking spots, basements and clubs from global corners.
This collection of tracks are key moments from the label’s main artists who are both in action over the Easter Weekend. Collocutor will be headlining ‘Journey to the Pyramids’ at The Jazz Café where Pete will also be playing a variety of ‘Spiritual Jazz’ bangers. Pete will also be supporting the Easter Thursday line-up at Penya’s next release launch at Café 1001 and Funk Bast*rd from Singapore’s innovative Darker Than Wax will be making a rare London performance.
