Joe Armon-Jones & Maxwell Owin drop taster of ‘Idiom’

After receiving an incredible reaction from the premiere of their new project ‘Idiom’ at our show at the Jazz Cafe in May, Joe Armon Jones & Maxwell Owin are back with a teaser from this long-awaited release.  Both  Joe and Max are forces to be reckoned with and integral parts of the burgeoning South London jazz scene, these young musicians contribute to numerous outfits including Sumochief, Ata Kak, Jamie Isaac, MC Pinty, Moses Boyd Exodus, Nubya Garcia and Ezra Collective, as well as pushing their own solo projects. This is their first combined effort.

‘Idiom’ is the result of multiple collaborations under the direction of Joe and Maxwell. Featuring Nubya Garcia, Oscar Jerome and Jake Long, it is heavily influenced by the hardcore continuum and covers everything from 2-step, broken-beat and house to jazz and dub. It will be released on Yam Records on September 8th. The launch party will be at Total Refreshment Centre on 13th September.

For now though here’s  the beautiful Tanner’s Tango featuring Nubya Garcia on Saxophone…
