Vels Trio – Yellow Ochre

‘Driven by the hefty keys of Jack Stephenson-Oliver this 5 track heavyweight from the UK based Vels Trio keeps on giving. Both progressive and accessible these infectious jazz compositions are an essential for those who love music. Mighty music on the groundbreaking Total Refreshment Centre label.!!!’

Sidewalk Chalk – An Orchid Is Born

‘The follow up to ‘Shoulder Season’ my good friends from Chicago come of age. Hip hop, jazz, soul, funk, a massive brass section, a serious live vibe, and a millennial demographic. What’s not to like. These kids are off the chain and are deserved of your attention. Produced by Sput Searight (Snarky Puppy / Kendrick Lamaar).’

The Heliocentrics – A World Of Masks

‘First appearing as an accompanying band to Dj Shadow in the mid 2000’s the London based group of musicians have, for me personally, no equal. This trippy, spritually jazz charged, funky as … , psychedelic collection has had me completely in it’s spell from first play. With elements of Jefferson Airplane, Sun Ra and New Rotary Connection this one definitely flies.’

Zara McFarlane – All Africa

‘The seriously talented UK vocalist Zara McFarlane returns to the limelight with a new and exciting taster ep. Featuring a band who I can only describe as a who’s who of brit jazz talent this release re-casts a landmark track originally by Max Roach. Production courtesy of Moses Boyd and arrangement from Nathaniel Cross.’

Moonchild – Voyager

‘After first championing this LA trio back in 2012 it’s a real pleasure to have new music from Max, Amber and Andris. This band are finally getting the recognition they deserve with this 13 track luscious neo-soul stunner. From the first 3 chords of the Voyager (Intro) you will be well and truly hooked.’
