Kindred and the Family Soul – Never Know – Legacy Of Love

Husband and wife team of Fatin and Aja Dantzler come correct with this rare groove inspired soulful niceness. No insipid r’n’b stylings here from this Philly (home of Jill Scott and The Roots) based duo who garner respect from all in the real soul fraternity across the globe.

Triforce – 5ive

This 5 track ep from the UK 4 piece led by gifted guitarist Mansur Brown has been raising eyebrows amongst those in the musical know thanks to its audacious nature and the proper cap doffing it gives to the worlds of jazz fusion and electronica. This is proper musicianship from the new breed. File under essential. Fave tune Elijah’s Remedy.

DJ Amir presents Buena Música Y Cultura

Hip-Hop legend Amir Abdullah aka DJ Amir – usually to be found collaborating with Kon. Has assembled 14 ‘off the beaten track’ rare latin tracks from across the Americas. Recorded in the 60’s and & 70’s these tracks cover salsa, guaguanco, and all the stops in between. Standout tune Picadillo.

Morgan Guerin – The Saga

Saxophonist (and a whole lot more) and native son of New Orleans (but now based in Atlanta) – Morgan Guerin – is without doubt one of the worlds most exciting and up and coming contemporary jazz musicians of the moment. Still only in his early 20’s he has already graced the stage at the Whitehouse and played in the Grammys band. This LP (which features Morgan playing most of the instruments) tells the tale of his journey so far. Remember where you heard his name first.
