Samora Pinderhughes – Ascension – The Transformations Suite

This politically charged six track opus from Samora Pinderhughes is relevant for the times and powerful in its delivery. This is an epic work rooted in black consciousness that aptly reflects the serious problems that African-Americans are currently facing in the US.

Christie Dashiell – Time All Mine – Time All Mine

This really is a sumptuous piece of work from the DC based singer who is usually associated with the Revive-Music possee of Marcus Strickland, Otis Brown III, Brandee Younger etc. Earlier this year I had the good fortune of meeting this young singer and hearing her near perfect performance. A great in the making. Magical.

Solange Knowles – Cranes In The Sky (Kaytranada remix) – A Seat At The Table

Beyonce sibling Solange Knowles has caused a stir with her latest groundbreaking socially conscious album. Cranes in the Sky is the standout track and here it is given the remix polish from the production don from Montreal Kaytranada. Soulful, string laden and totally in the zone. Loving this.
