Mad Explosive Spontaneity – Tribute to Bahamadia Mix

In tribute to the Philly hip-hop virtuoso. This is a mix of some of Bahamadia‘s most soulful productions and features.

Dipping in and out of her two solo albums “Kollage” – the first LP ever written/co-produced entirely by a female Hip Hop artist (1996)- and BB Queen (2000) and including a few of her finest collaborations with the likes of The Roots, Guru and Erykah Badu, it’s a nod to a forerunner of the jazz rap sub genre and her effortless transitions to funk, RnB and Drum ‘N’ Bass.

** We’re excited to welcome Bahamadia back to the UK for her first show in London in years, alongside newcomer Shunaji who has been touted by Gilles Peterson as one to watch as part of his Future Bubblers scouting series. Grab tickets for the event at the Jazz Cafe on May 11th here. **

“I’mma rap fanatic… phenomenal at it a syllable savage written or off the cabbage this chick is bananas.”
