As Soma Soma gear up toward the release of their second album, Mintaka Records is pleased to announce the release of a series of diverse remixes highlighting the band’s debut LP Saudade.
Released in 2019 on Vinyl & Digital on Mintaka Records, Saudade is a dancing celebration of the here and now with a melodic longing for home and the warmth of Brazil. The Saudade Remixed album fuses Soma Soma’s distinctive funky afro-latin sound with House, Drum & Bass, Dub & Disco.
Delonte Rivers brings the goods for the third of the Saudade Remixed singles, giving Branquinha a dancefloor worthy overhaul. Although brushed with a subtle stroke, this remix packs a serious tropical punch.
Delonte Rivers is a DJ and producer from North West London and has released music on XVI Records, Banana Hill and Love Above Records. Alongside this, Delonte is the founder of Everybody Loves to Boogie, a collective and party that focuses on feelgood music from all over the world. His own productions lie on the deeper side of electronic music, drawing on afro and latin percussion, balearic, dub and left field disco.
“I really wanted to take Branquinha and reconstruct it into a downtempo but still dancefloor friendly DJ track… I also didn’t want to move too far away from the original so I tried to add as little as possible, mainly using the parts supplied and rearranging these into something completely new at the same time, I like to call it my ‘au naturel’ remix.” – Delonte Rivers
